Jason Piercey
Athletic Director
jasonpiercey@mtcscougars.orgJason Piercey has served as the Athletic Director at MTCS since 2012, leading programs to 10 state and 3 national championships. He has amassed over 350 wins while leading the boys basketball programs at MTCS (2007–2021), Ezell-Harding (2003-2007), and Friendship (1999-2003). A 5-time District Coach of the Year and 2016 DNJ Coach of the Year, his teams advanced to two state tournaments, including one Final Four, while capturing five district championships, and one region championship.
Billy Snell
Assistant Athletic Director
billysnell@mtcscougars.orgBilly Snell served 17 years as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Lipscomb University. He was an assistant boys basketball coach from 2013–2022 and head middle school boys basketball coach from 2013–2021, leading his team to the 2019 James C. Haile State Championship. He has also served as the fishing coach and has been assistant athletic director since 2023.
Christian Peterson
Assistant Athletic Director
christianpeterson@mtcscougars.orgChristian Peterson has served as head football coach since 2023, leading the program to a region title and the school’s first state football championship in his first season. His 2024 and 2025 teams both advanced to the state quarterfinals. He previously served as an assistant football coach from 2021–2022 and led the track & field program from 2021–2025. Peterson also serves as an assistant athletic director.
Chris Lawson
Assistant Athletic Director
chrislawson@mtcscougars.orgChris Lawson served in his first season as head boys basketball coach at MTCS while also working as assistant athletic director. He brought 19 years of experience, including five seasons as head coach at Cascade, where his teams won two district titles and reached two sectional appearances. Lawson also coached at Madison County, Columbia Central, and Hazel Green. A three-time District Coach of the Year, he played collegiately at Lindsey Wilson and Martin Methodist.
